Birdie Mendoza Bio
Birdie Mendoza (aka Michele Moreno) has been singing since her early days in the nest. She was the only Latina Ray Charles backup singer in history and has sung on numerous TV & film scores, including an episode of HBO's Six Feet Under.
Birdie Mendoza and band have been featured at The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, Leavitt Pavillion, the Aria, MGM Grand and Wynn hotels in Las Vegas, the Jazz & Wine Festival in Brisbane Australia, the Fantasea Yachts in Marina Del Rey and at numerous southland weddings and parties. Birdie also leads the kids music project Birdie's Playhouse which, for their debut CD won a Parent's Choice award and a Gold National Parenting Publications Award. They have performed hundreds of shows for kids and families throughout Los Angeles.
As a backup singer, Birdie has sung all over the world, see Credits, and in 2007 as Michele Moreno she released an electronica Trip Hop CD titled Plastic Garden. She is also an actress with co-star credits on shows like The Shield, Parenthood & Boston Legal, and holds a B.A. degree from Stanford University.
